Three million users already trust Grey with their cross-border money moves, and the Y Combinator-backed fintech is not slowing down. At Moonshot by TechCabal 2026 in Lagos on Wednesday, Grey announced Paycheck, a dedicated salary account built for professionals earning in US dollars, British pounds, or euros.
The product launch comes on the back of serious momentum. Grey has processed nearly $5 billion in payments since it was founded in 2020, and recorded a 170% year-on-year increase in total payment volume. Co-founder and CEO Idorenyin Obong used her keynote to make the case for why salary management deserves its own dedicated experience: "After a month of work, employees should have more to look forward to than the additional responsibility of sorting through transactions and keeping track of their earnings."
Paycheck does the organising for you. Users can receive and manage foreign currency salaries, access automatic transaction sorting, higher savings interest rates, increased transaction limits, and priority customer support. For those already receiving their pay through Grey, activating Paycheck requires no account changes at all.
Grey was co-founded by Obong and Femi Aghedo, and has grown steadily from a currency exchange tool into a full cross-border payments platform serving both individuals and businesses. Paycheck is the latest extension of that journey, this time reaching directly into how people on the continent get paid. Whether it becomes the go-to salary layer for Africa's global professionals is the question worth watching.
