Dans le quartier de Cocody, à Abidjan, en Côte d’Ivoire, un kiosque d’agents de Djamo se trouve entre un point de mobile money et un bureau de change. Trois activités différentes reposent pourtant sur une idée assez proche : pour des millions d’Africains de l’Ouest qui n’ont jamais eu de compte bancaire, le téléphone peut être plus utile qu’une agence bancaire.

Djamo, la néobanque ivoirienne fondée en 2020, compte aujourd’hui plus d’un million d’utilisateurs en Côte d’Ivoire et au Sénégal. Elle a traité plus de 4,5 milliards de dollars de transactions et levé 17 millions de dollars en avril 2025, la plus importante levée de fonds jamais réalisée par une startup ivoirienne.
