On January 16, 2027, Nigerians will head to the polls to elect the next president of Africa's most populous nation.
Incumbent Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is attempting to convince the electorate to grant him a second term based on his record of economic reform, but arrayed against him is a strong but divided opposition bent on replacing him.
Leading the opposition are two popular figures. The People's Democratic Party is led by Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president and serial presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, former Labour Party leader Peter Obi is standing as candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), supported by running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso.
