We completed 127km of roads without fanfare – Gov Otu

One hundred and twenty-seven kilometres of road, finished and in use, with no ribbon-cutting ceremony in sight. That is the quiet boast Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu is making, and he seems genuinely unbothered by the lack of fanfare.

Speaking on the completed projects, Otu said the roads are already serving the people, and that is the only scorecard that matters to him. It is a refreshingly understated position in a political climate where groundbreaking ceremonies sometimes outlast the actual construction.

Whether voters share his preference for results over celebration is the question worth watching.
