Minister Fred Byamukama pulled on his boots and got to work this week, making a hands-on inspection of the Mityana-Mubende Highway construction site. The 86-kilometre road project is currently underway and the minister wanted to see the progress for himself.
The highway cuts through the Greater Mubende region and is being positioned as a serious upgrade for how people and goods move through that part of Uganda. Better roads mean lower transport costs, faster market access, and stronger trade links between communities that have long needed the connection.
When completed, the Mityana-Mubende Highway is expected to do more than move vehicles. It is the kind of infrastructure that quietly reshapes daily life, from farmers getting produce to market faster to small businesses reaching new customers. Watch this road.
