Uganda has put a 21-day quarantine in place for citizens returning from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a move that signals just how seriously Kampala is taking cross-border health risks right now.
Beyond quarantining returning nationals, Uganda is also closing its doors to most travellers who have passed through DR Congo, barring them from even transiting through the country.
The restrictions are tight and the message is clear: movement between the two neighbouring countries is, for now, firmly under the microscope.
