The Future Awards Africa Announces Nominees for 20th Edition, with Damilare Kuku, Fatima Bala, Eloghosa Osunde and Peter Okonkwo in the Literature Category
Four Nigerian writers are in the running for the Literature prize at this year's Future Awards Africa: Damilare Kuku, Fatima Bala, Eloghosa Osunde, and Peter Okonkwo. The nominations come as TFAA marks its 20th edition, a milestone that makes this particular shortlist feel even more significant.
The four names represent some of the most compelling voices in contemporary Nigerian writing. Kuku, Bala, Osunde, and Okonkwo each bring a distinct perspective to their work, and seeing them recognised on the same list is a moment worth celebrating for lovers of African literature.
With the 20th edition carrying the weight of two decades of championing young African excellence, the Literature category is one to watch closely. Who takes the prize is still to be decided, but the conversation has already started.
