The Center for Fiction Opens a West African Literature Reading Group with Magenta Naaku, Starting November 10
The Center for Fiction in Brooklyn is launching a new in-person reading group this November, and it is dedicated entirely to West African literature. The series is called "West African Literature: Secrets, the Surreal, and the Sea," and it kicks off on November 10.
Leading the group is Magenta Naaku, a writer and artist who will guide participants through the reading selections. The Center for Fiction is known for bringing readers and writers together in meaningful ways, and this series feels like a natural extension of that mission.
If West African storytelling has a place on your reading list, this could be the community you have been looking for.
