Sabi Arts Launches Playwright Prize for Nigerian Dramatists, With ₦1.4 Million in Awards and a Full Stage Production | Submit by 20 December
Nigerian playwrights, this one is for you. Sabi Arts Limited has launched the Sabi Arts Playwright Prize, an annual award created specifically for new and emerging dramatists from Nigeria. The total prize pool sits at ₦1,400,000, and beyond the money, the top winner walks away with something arguably more valuable: a full stage production of their play.
Selected works will also be featured in a digital anthology, giving writers visibility well beyond a single award cycle. Submissions opened on 1 October and the deadline to enter is 20 December 2026.
If you have been sitting on a script, now is the time to dust it off.
