Robert Sanchez reportedly agree terms with Serie A club

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez is reportedly set to leave Stamford Bridge and join Serie A side Como on loan, just days after the Blues completed the signing of Emiliano Martínez from Aston Villa.

Multiple reports from England and Italy have comfirmed that Como have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea over a season-long loan for the Spanish goalkeeper.Sánchez’s future at Chelsea became increasingly uncertain after a difficult start to the new Premier League campaign.

The 28-year-old came under criticism following his performance against Fulham, where he was blamed for conceding both goals in Chelsea’s 3-2 victory. Chelsea subsequently moved quickly to bring in Martínez, with the Argentine goalkeeper immediately taking over as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper in the 4-3 win over Brighton.

The arrival of the experienced World Cup winner effectively pushed Sánchez down the pecking order. A move to Como could now provide Sánchez with an opportunity to regain his confidence and establish himself as a regular starter.
