A House of Representatives committee has recovered ₦521.8 million in VAT from the Central Bank of Nigeria, with its sights now set on an additional ₦33 billion in outstanding claims.
The recovery came after the House directed the committee to investigate alleged revenue leakages, non-compliance with standard operating procedures, and breaches of service-level agreements tied to the Remita payment platform.
With ₦33 billion still on the table, this probe is far from over.
