Peter Obi is putting a N5 billion price tag on his reputation. The Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate is threatening to sue actor and fellow party member Kenneth Okonkwo over comments made on Channels TV.
During the programme, Okonkwo alleged that Obi and the South-east caucus of the NDC demanded N10 million bribes from House of Representatives aspirants in exchange for securing their tickets.
Obi has pushed back hard, and the threat of a N5 billion defamation suit signals he is not letting the claim slide quietly. Whether this ends in court or in a very public back-and-forth between two of the Labour Party's most recognisable faces is the question everyone is now watching.
