A group of stakeholders has written an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, calling out what they describe as a direct attack on Nigeria's 1999 Constitution. At the heart of the matter is a presidential directive to halt the implementation of a Supreme Court-ordered delineation of the Warri Federal Constituency in Delta State.
The stakeholders are not mincing words. They argue that stopping a process already mandated by the Supreme Court amounts to a desecration of the rule of law, one of the foundational principles the Nigerian state is built on.
