[This Day] Uyo -- The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, has stated that despite being a major driver of economic growth, the Nigerian maritime sector faces complex security threats, including sea piracy, armed robbery at sea, kidnapping along waterways, illegal oil bunkering, pipeline vandalism, smuggling, human trafficking, environmental crimes, and other forms of transnational organized criminal activities.
