Millennium Excellence Foundation to host Africa Business Investment Summit in Washington, D.C.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene and Chancellor of KNUST, will deliver the Royal Keynote Address on 27 August at the Africa Business Investment Summit (ABIS 2026), an invitation-only gathering hosted by the Millennium Excellence Foundation. The summit takes place at MGM National Harbor on the banks of the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., under the theme "Unlocking Capital, Steering Investment, Shaping Africa's Future."
The two-day event is engineered to facilitate a minimum of USD 500 million in structured capital commitments between African deal originators and US-based institutional and private investors. Deals will be organised across seven sector tracks: Energy and Power, Technology and Innovation, Agriculture and Food Systems, Tourism and Creative Economy, Infrastructure and Real Estate, Mining and Natural Resources, and Maritime.
The programme is built for decision-makers. Over 40 percent of attendees hold C-Suite or Ministerial rank, and the agenda includes Ministerial Roundtables, private bilateral deal rooms, an MOU signing ceremony, a Diaspora Investment Programme launch, an ABIS Innovation Showcase, and a Summit Gala Dinner. ABIS 2026 is also the economic centrepiece of Millennium Excellence Week America 2026, which culminates in the Akwasidae Kesie Grand Durbar, a royal gathering that brings traditional authority and global investment leadership onto one stage.
Foundation President Ashim Morton, also known as Nana Agyeman Prempeh, describes the summit as a commitment rather than a conversation. Omar Ben Yedder, Managing Director at IC Publications, which is providing editorial, event, and investor mobilisation support, adds that Africa is best positioned to offer solutions to the world right now, and that this summit brings together the relationships, platforms, and ambition the continent's economic future demands.
With half a billion dollars in target commitments and a royal keynote on the programme, the question for Africa's investors and deal originators is simple: are you in the room?
