Kenya: Mudavadi Calls for Accountability, Fairer Global Institutions to Rebuild Public Confidence

Musalia Mudavadi is not mincing words. Kenya's Prime Cabinet Secretary stepped into the conversation on global governance with a clear message: institutions, both local and international, must earn the trust placed in them by actually delivering results.

Speaking from Nairobi, Mudavadi argued that public confidence is not something governments and institutions can simply assume. It has to be built through consistent accountability and a genuine commitment to fairness. Without that, he warned, trust erodes and stays gone.

His call extended beyond Kenya's borders. Mudavadi pushed for international institutions to become more inclusive and representative, reflecting the voices of the people they are meant to serve. The implication is pointed: the current structures are not doing enough, and the cracks are showing.

For a continent that has long raised its hand on the question of equitable global representation, Mudavadi's remarks land at a meaningful moment. The question now is whether the institutions he is addressing are listening.
