Cruel Santino opens "International Collector" with a warning: "There's something in the water, baby girl, now please don't drink that shit." It sets the tone immediately. This is not a straightforward love song. It is something murkier, more personal, and far more interesting.
The alté artist builds the track around a tension between confidence and confession. He calls himself an "international collector," someone with foreign swagger and a jet-set energy ("IJGB, touchdown Miliki"), but the verse keeps pulling him back to earth. He admits he is a sinner, that he hurts himself, and that this particular girl sends feelings "straight to the heart," repeated four times like he cannot shake it loose.
What makes the lyrics land is that push and pull between bravado and need. He asks for her love in one breath and warns that "love is dangerous" in the next. The image of him crying in a cave while she is out dancing says more about the dynamic than any chorus could.
The outro closes things out simply: "The Kings of the Bounce, the best in the business." Brief, unbothered, and oddly fitting for a track that never quite lets you get comfortable. If you have been sleeping on Cruel Santino's pen, this one is a good reason to wake up.
