How Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will elevate the Africa Business Investment Summit

Promotional communication announcing the inaugural Africa Business Investment Summit (ABIS), scheduled to take place over two days - Thursday 27 and Friday 28 August 2026 at MGM National Harbor, Washington, D.C. - proudly emphasises the fact that the event will be held under the patronage of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, King and paramount ruler of the Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana. His keynote address, themed "A Royal Vision for Africa's Economic Renaissance", is expected to set the tone of the summit.

ABIS is billed as the flagship investment forum of the Millennium Excellence Foundation, which has, since 2000, become the gold standard of pan-African recognition by recognising and celebrating African excellence in business, leadership, governance, entrepreneurship and other spheres through the Millennium Excellence Awards founded by visionary architect, serial entrepreneur and development strategist, Ashim Morton.

Commenting on the event, Morton has said that "ABIS 2026 is not a conversation about potential; it is a commitment to action. We are bringing the world's most consequential investors into the same room as Africa's most compelling opportunities, under the patronage of one of the continent's most respected leaders."

This year's edition is particularly significant because it is taking place, for the first time, on American soil in a week-long celebration tagged Millennium Excellence Week America 2026.
