Guinness World Records Confirms Tesglam’s 146-Hour Makeup Marathon in Lagos

Theresa Emegwara, the Lagos-based makeup artist known as Tesglam, now has a Guinness World Records plaque and medal to show for something she pulled off over six straight days in August 2025. Guinness has officially confirmed her record: 146 hours, 23 minutes, and 56 seconds of continuous makeup application, completed at the Glam 4-144 event held at Landmark Boulevard in Lagos.

That number matters because the previous record, set by a Ghanaian makeup artist, stood at 103 hours. Tesglam blew past it, working on more than 200 different faces before the clock finally stopped. Landmark Boulevard hosted the attempt and provided the logistical support that kept everything running across those six consecutive days.

The attempt drew a steady crowd throughout, with models, creatives, and members of the public passing through the venue while a wider audience followed along online. The Lagos State Commissioner for Youth also stopped by during the marathon, and after Guinness made the confirmation official, sent a message of congratulations. "She has not only represented Lagos with pride but has also inspired young creatives to pursue excellence on a global stage," the Commissioner said.

Tesglam, for her part, was quick to spread the credit. "I didn't do this alone. From the team at Landmark to the volunteers, the models, and everyone cheering online, this record belongs to all of us," she said. The verification process wrapped months after the August attempt, making the plaque a long-awaited but very real arrival.

Now the question the beauty community is already asking: who comes for this record next, and how far past 146 hours can anyone actually go?
