Three women from Ghana who grew up in poverty have completed master's degrees at the University of Cambridge, after receiving scholarships that made the journey possible.
The scholarships covered the costs that would otherwise have kept these women far from one of the world's most prestigious institutions. For each of them, the funding was the difference between a dream that stayed on paper and one that actually happened.
Their stories sit at the heart of a growing conversation about access, not just talent. Ghana has no shortage of brilliant women. What has historically been missing is the financial bridge to get them into rooms like the ones at Cambridge.
These three graduates are now on the other side of that bridge, and what they do next is worth watching closely.
