Folu Storms arrived at the AFRIFF Opening Gala in a strapless, floor-length gown by Nigerian label Iremitide, and the room had to have felt it. The piece came straight from the runway, and every inch of it demanded attention.
The gown is covered in oversized metallic gold paillettes, the overlapping discs creating an armour-like texture that moves with her. The reflective finish gives the silhouette dimension without adding bulk, which is a harder trick to pull off than it looks.
Styling choices were deliberate and restrained. A sleek braided bun kept the neckline fully visible, and delicate gold drop earrings from Symbols of Authority rounded out the look without competing with the gown's drama.
