A foundation is pushing for real, on-the-ground results from the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law in Imo State, and they have a concrete plan to get there.
The foundation plans to distribute physical copies of the VAPP Law so that more people, including community-level actors, actually know what the legislation says and what protections it provides. Awareness, they believe, starts with access.
Beyond circulation, the foundation will assess the institutional bottlenecks that have slowed the law's enforcement, then work directly with local government actors to set up designated reporting desks. Those desks would give survivors a clear, defined place to go when they need help.
Whether those reporting desks will be staffed, funded, and trusted enough to make a difference is the question worth watching.
