One hundred young people in Gusau now have certified automotive skills, after the federal government officially opened a new training centre in the city this past Thursday.
The commissioning was handled by John Owan Enoh, the Minister of State for Industry, marking another step in the government's push to build technical capacity among Nigerian youth through hands-on vocational programmes.
The centre adds to a growing conversation across the country about what practical, skills-first education can look like, especially in states where youth unemployment runs deep. Whether Gusau becomes a model for similar facilities elsewhere is the question worth watching.
