The agreements were signed by Dr George Agyekum Donkor, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EBID, and Hon. Mariama Ciré Sylla, Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget of the Republic of Guinea, in the presence of Hon. Ismaël Nabé, Minister of Planning, Development and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Board of Governors of EBID.
The financing will support the construction of the Siguiri Regional Hospital for EUR 65.8 million; the construction and paving of the 84-km Cissela-Banko-N'Dèma and Banko-Saraya Road for EUR 143.05 million; and the development of the Tinkisso 2 Hydropower Project for EUR 60.6 million. These projects will deliver significant benefits across Guinea, expanding renewable energy access for over 350,000 people, improving connectivity and trade in Upper Guinea, and extending specialised healthcare to more than 1.7 million people.
Dr George Agyekum Donkor stated that the financing demonstrates EBID's commitment to high-impact investments that promote sustainable growth, strengthen resilience and improve the well-being of communities. He noted that investments in health, energy and transport will also create a stronger foundation for economic activity, job creation and sustainable development.
In response, Hon. Mariama Ciré Sylla welcomed the strong partnership with EBID and thanked the Bank for its continued confidence in Guinea's economic prospects, noting that the investments will accelerate strategic infrastructure development, expand access to essential services, and support inclusive growth.
