The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) has approved $390m in financing for four projects across West Africa, targeting energy, mining, transport and climate-smart agriculture.
The approvals were made at the bank's 101st Ordinary Meeting, held in Lomé, Togo, on 28 September 2026. The package includes financing for Ghana's petroleum supply chain and gold mining sector, railway infrastructure in Nigeria, and a regional initiative focused on climate-resilient agriculture.
The largest operation is a $230m facility for Azumah Resources Ghana Limited to support development of the Black Volta Gold Project. The investment is intended to support local value creation and economic activity around the project, while strengthening Ghana's mining sector.
EBID has also approved a $50m facility for Ghanaian company MOSL Limited to support the supply of petroleum products. Together, the two Ghanaian investments account for $280m of the total financing approved.
