Brazilian Professor Translates Femi Morgan’s ‘Renegade’ Into Portuguese

Samuel Delgado, a Brazilian academic, has been quietly working since 2020 on something that bridges two continents: a Portuguese translation of Nigerian poet Femi Morgan's collection Renegade.

The project is still in progress, with a full book tentatively expected in 2027. That's a long runway, but literary translation at this level takes time, care, and a deep respect for the original voice.

When it finally lands, Renegade in Portuguese will open Morgan's work to millions of new readers across Brazil and the wider Lusophone world. Watch this space.
