Adekunle Gold Brings Black-Tie Style & Afrobeats to the Ballon d’Or

Adekunle Gold walked into the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony at the London Palladium in a double-breasted black tuxedo with wide satin peak lapels, a white pleated dress shirt and a black satin bow tie, and honestly, the look stopped traffic before he even reached the red carpet.

The details are what took it from classic to memorable. AG Baby pinned a circular brooch with a blue centre stone and textured gold detailing to his lapel, then layered on dark oval sunglasses, gold hoop earrings, a statement gold ring and a luxury wristwatch with a leather strap. Glossy black patent shoes finished everything off, and those gold accents did exactly what they needed to do: gave a traditional black-and-white look just enough personality to feel distinctly his.

He did not stop at the red carpet either. Adekunle Gold took the stage at the official Ballon d'Or after-party, performing "Party No Dey Stop" alongside other fan favourites. While football's biggest names gathered in London to celebrate the beautiful game, AG Baby made sure Nigerian music had its own moment in the room too.

One tuxedo, one performance, one city. Adekunle Gold is clearly not travelling anywhere just to blend in.
