Festus Keyamo now has a new role in President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election machinery. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development has been appointed director of air mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress campaign, according to an official announcement.
In this position, Keyamo will head a directorate responsible for coordinating air travel and aviation logistics across the APC's nationwide campaign activities. The appointment places one of the party's most visible voices in charge of keeping the campaign's movement infrastructure running from city to city.
It is an interesting fit, given that Keyamo already oversees Nigeria's aviation sector at the ministerial level. Whether that overlap becomes an asset or a talking point for critics is a conversation the party will likely be watching closely as 2027 draws nearer.
