2026/2027 Champions League results and table standings

Paris Saint-Germain handed Barcelona a 4-2 defeat on Matchday 3 of the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League, and that result tells you everything about how competitive this season's league phase has already become.

Three matchdays in, five clubs are sharing top spot on nine points each: PSG, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Real Betis. It is a crowded summit, and with five matchdays still to play, the race for automatic qualification is wide open.

Matchday 3 had plenty of drama beyond the PSG and Barca clash. Liverpool edged past Villarreal in a breathless 4-3 thriller, while Manchester City put five past AEK Athens without reply in a 5-1 rout. Real Madrid were equally ruthless, beating RB Leipzig 4-1 to cement their place at the top of the table.

Not every English side had a night to remember. Arsenal battled to a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich, while Manchester United were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline away to Como, a result that will sting the Old Trafford faithful.

With the top five separated by nothing but goal difference at this stage, Matchday 4 could easily shuffle the entire picture. Watch this space.
